The Himalayan was accepted as a new breed in CFA in 1957. 9 years later, the
breed had its first Grand Champion - a blue point male named GC, BW Chestermere
Kinuba of Nevah-Tep.
In 1981, CFA added a class for solid chocolate and lilac CPCs as a "solid division"
of the Himalayan class - which was retracted just a year later. However, that
short window saw the first CPC Grand Champion - a lilac female named GC Lyka's
Shadowbox.
In 1984, the Himalayans were combined with the Persian breed, which also had the
effect of making the CPCs eligible for competition right beside their Persian
counterparts.
