Examples of the Accepted Himalayan Colors in CFA

Seal Point
Accepted 1957

GC, RW Everclassic's
Little Wise Guy
Seal Point is the most basic himalayan color - it is simply the colorpoint expression of the black gene.

The addition of the agouti tabby gene makes a seal point into a Seal Lynx Point

Seal Lynx Point
Accepted 1982

GC Degentilly Petit Prince

Blue Point
Accepted 1957

GC, Teahs
Melody-Of-My Heart
Blue Point is the recessive of Seal Point, and is created by adding 2 dilute genes to the Seal Point color.

The addition of the agouti tabby gene makes a blue point into a Blue Lynx Point

Blue Lynx Point
Accepted 1982

GC Whisperwood's Thin Blue Line

Chocolate Point
Accepted 1957

GC NewDestiny's Something
To Remember
The Chocolate gene is often misunderstood. Chocolate is a dominent color in itself - however it is recessive to black, so a cat must have 2 copies of this gene to be a Chocolate Point.

The addition of the agouti tabby gene makes a chocolate point into a Chocolate Lynx Point

Chocolate Lynx Point
Accepted 1994

GC Protocol's S'Mores

Lilac Point
Accepted 1957

GC, RW Yo-Man's Amazing Grace
Lilac Point is the dilute of chocolate and is created by adding 2 copies of the dilute gene (a recessive) to the chocolate point.

The addition of the agouti tabby gene makes a lilac point into a Lilac Lynx Point

Lilac Lynx Point
Accepted 1994

CH Noradawn Gino Ginelli

Flame Point
Accepted 1964

GC, RW Whisperwood's
Set The World On Fire
Flame Point is also one of the most basic colors - it is simply the colorpoint expression of the red gene.

The addition of the agouti tabby gene makes a flame point into a Flame Lynx Point

Flame Lynx Point
Accepted 1993

GC Brigantina's Beautiful

Cream Point
Accepted 1979

GC Sezanne's Doubleshot of Tanglebox
Cream Point is the dilute of flame point, and is created by adding 2 copies of the dilute gene to the flame point.

The addition of the agouti tabby gene makes a cream point into a Cream Lynx Point

Cream Lynx Point
Accepted 1993

GC Careyata's Stardust

Tortie Point
Accepted 1964

GC, NW Sulltans Seize The Glory
Tortie Point is a combination of the 2 basic colors - black and red. Only a female can be a Tortie Point as is a sex-linked color, requiring 2 "X" genes - the genes that "make" a cat female.

The addition of the agouti tabby gene makes a tortie point into a Tortie Lynx Point

Tortie Lynx Point
Accepted 1990

GC Sandypaws Razza Ma Tazz

Blue-Cream Point
Accepted 1972

GC, GP, RW Prancenpaws
Glamor Shot of Ristokat, DM
Blue-Cream Point is created by adding 2 copies of the dilute gene (a recessive) to the tortie point. As with the tortie point, blue-cream is a sex-linked color.

The addition of the agouti tabby gene makes a blue-cream point into a Blue-Cream Lynx Point

Blue-Cream Lynx Point
Accepted 1990

GC, RW Oakheaven's Party Line of Teahs

Chocolate-Tortie Point
Accepted 1987

GCI Mani-Joo Lavande
of Manahos
Chocolate-Tortie Point is a combination of 2 colors - chocolate (recessive to black) and red. Only a female can have both chocolate and red combined, so like the tortie point, this is a sex-linked color.

The addition of the agouti tabby gene makes a chocolate-tortie point into a Chocolate-Tortie Lynx Point

Chocolate-Tortie Lynx Point
Accepted 1994

The Happy Sisters Nikita

Lilac-Cream Point
Accepted 1987

GC Kutzikoo's Lilac Cloud
Lilac-Cream Point is created by adding 2 copies of the dilute gene (a recessive) to the chocolate-tortie point. Again, it is a sex-linked color with all Lilac-Cream Point cats being female.

The addition of the agouti tabby gene makes a lilac-cream point into a Lilac-Cream Lynx Point

Lilac-Cream Lynx Point
Accepted 1994
